Assistant Fire Chief – Training / Operations
Reporting to the Fire Chief, this new position was established to assist the Fire Chief in guiding a collaborative and proactive style of management in the Fire Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and direction of effective fire suppression programs; fire ground operations; inspections; and, incident command management. In addition, the Assistant Fire Chief will assist with fire prevention programs and supervision of Bylaw Enforcement Services. Qualifications include the completion of Grade 12 with post-secondary training at a Fire Academy; First Responder Level 3 or Occupational First Aid Level 3 certifications, or equivalent; and a Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air. In addition, considerable progressive experience with firefighting and knowledge of the Fire Services Act and related codes and regulations is required. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and train volunteer members of the Fire Department.Detailed Job Description Salary Range
The Town of Creston is offering a salary between $53,000 to $57,000 and comprehensive benefits package.
