Business Investment and Development

Community Futures is a not-for-profit economic development organization, committed to helping people in the Central Kootenay region who are either presently operating or are planning to start their own business. It offers a number of programs, including:

  • Business loans of up to $500,000;
  • Self-employment program;
  • Training and workshops;
  • Business development services.

Invest Kootenay seeks to connect investors and opportunity holders throughout the Kootenays by promoting investment opportunities to tourists.

Chamber of Commerce

The Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce works to create a prosperous business environment in the Creston Valley by promoting local business, facilitating new business ventures and increasing communication between business, local government and non-profit groups.

The Chamber of Commerce offers its members affordable group insurance plans, low merchant rates for credit card services and opportunities to promote their business to tourists and Creston Valley residents. The Chamber of Commerce also operates the Visitor Information Centre, on behalf of the Town of Creston.

Kootenay Employment Services

Kootenay Employment Services is the local organization that brings employers and employees together. They offer a variety of services, including job retraining and wage subsidy programs of interest to both job seekers and potential employers.
