Animal Control
General Information
Owning a pet can be a rewarding experience for you and your family. The following information is provided for your guidance.
Number of Pets Permitted (cats and dogs)
Town bylaws permit a maximum of four (4) pets per residential property, two (2) of which may be dogs over the age of six (6) months.
Licensing
The Bylaw requires that every pet must be licensed and the fees are as follows:

A licence is easily obtained during business hours at the Town Office, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Veterinarian's Certificate
A veterinarian's certificate stating that your pet has been spayed or neutered is required for your initial license application for each pet.
Adopting a Pet
In some cases, animals are abandoned or the owner(s) of impounded pets cannot be located. To deal with these issued, the Town of Creston supports our "pet adoption program"

Bylaw Violations
Barking
Continuous barking that disturbs the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort, and/or convenience of any person(s) in the neighbourhood, is prohibited and penalties are as follows:

Running at Large
A pet running at large can be a danger to itself, other animals, pedestrians, and motorists. Please keep pets under control while on your property and secured on a leash or in a pet carrier when taken from your property. Penalties for running at large are:
