Mayor Ron Toyota was born and raised in Creston and graduated from Prince Charles Secondary School in 1965. He operated Taks Home Furnishers for 30 years living in Cranbrook, with a branch store in Creston. Mayor Toyota has been active with many community groups, including the Creston Valley Rotary Club, the Creston Valley Regional Airport Society and the College of the Rockies.
Councillor Tanya Ducharme is serving her second term on Council. She has lived in the Creston Valley for over 30 years. She has a professional background in Environmental, Health and Safety. Councillor Ducharme has been involved in organizing many events in Creston and is proud of the community support and volunteerism in the Creston Valley.
CouncillorScott Veitch This is his first term on Council
Councillor Judy Gadicke is a teacher and has been a resident of Creston for many years. She has raised her family here, and in her dual role as parent and teacher, was very active in the Science Fair at the local, regional and national levels. This is her second term on Council.
Councillor Wesly Graham is the youngest member of Council. This is his second term, and he is also a Director-at-Large for the Union of BC Municipalities. Councillor Graham is the driving force behind the annual Goat Style Mountain Bike Competition in Creston.
Councillor Jerry Schmalz is a realtor who is serving his second term with Council, having previously been a Councillor from 1993-1996. He has lived in the Creston Valley since he was six years old, and has two children and two grandchildren.
Councillor Joanna Wilson grew up in the Creston Valley and has lived in Town since 2004. As a voice and piano teacher, she is a strong advocate for the arts, and is proud of the growing arts and culture community in Creston. Coun. Wilson is serving her third term on Council.
