COVID-19 Cases In BC Epi Week 33

The number of COVID-19 cases in Creston has unfortunately continued to rise over the past week for the third consecutive week. This map, updated August 25, shows that the number of new cases reported of COVID-19 in Creston in the period from August 15 – 21, 2021 was 56.
As a community, the best way that we can protect ourselves and each other from COVID-19 and severe illness is to get vaccinated with both doses, and be extra vigilant with our COVID-19 prevention protocols. Wash your hands regularly and please stay home not just if you are feeling unwell, but also if you have tested positive for COVID-19, even if you have no symptoms and feel fine. COVID-19 can still be spread by those who are asymptomatic.  Masks are once again mandatory in all indoor public spaces for people aged 12 and older, regardless of vaccination status.
This week, the Provincial Health Officer announced that proof of vaccination for people aged 12+ will be introduced in the coming weeks for certain events, services and businesses in BC. Learn more here. Province wide, from August 10 - 23, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 83.3% of cases and 85.0% of hospitalizations.
There are a number of scheduled pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the Creston in the next week:
The COVID-19 vaccination is available to anyone born 2009 or earlier who have not yet received their first dose, or anyone who received their first dose more than 28 days ago.
