During the spring and summer season water use can increase by 100 percent in response to outdoor watering activities. As a result, Stage 1 water conservation measures go into effect on June 1st of every year regardless of seasonal weather patterns.
STAGE 1 WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES are now in effect for both the Town of Creston and Erickson:
• Watering of lawns is permitted ONLY between 7pm - 10am
• Watering of gardens, trees and shrubs is ONLY permitted between 7pm - 10am
• Watering of gardens, trees, and shrubs by watering can or hand-held hose is still permitted anytime.
The RDCK and the Town of Creston appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the above water conservation measures. Stage 1 Water Conservation Measures go into effect on June 1st and continue until September 30th in each year. Stricter water conservation measures may be implemented if water system demand increases significantly, hot and dry weather prevails or stream flows decline to critically low levels.
