The intent of this Bylaw is to amend Schedule “A”, being the Zoning Map, by rezoning the properties legally described as Lots 17 - 22, District Lot 9554, Kootenay District, Plan NEP87108 (718, 724, 730, 736, 742 & 806 Hawk View Drive) from “Single Family Residential (R-1) Zone” to “MultiFamily Residential (R-3) Zone”.
In general terms, if adopted, the new Bylaw would change the zoning of the subject properties from R-1, Single Family Residential to R-3, Multi-Family Residential use. This will allow an increased housing density, permitting the construction of up to a maximum of 21 dwelling units on the subject properties, in the form of clustered housing (pocket neighbourhoods), townhomes, or other similar housing options.
Any persons who believe that their interest in property will be affected by the proposed Bylaw will have an opportunity to be heard or to present written submissions respecting matters contained within the Bylaw at the Public Hearing on April 11, 2017 at 4:00 pm, Council Chambers.
A copy of the proposed Bylaw and relevant background documents may be inspected at the Town Office, 238 - 10th Avenue North, between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from March 30 to April 11, 2017 inclusive.
