NOTICE OF NOMINATION
Public Notice is given to the electors of the Town of Creston that nominations for the offce of Councillor will be received by the Chief Election Offcer or a designated person, as follows:
Town Hall, 238 – 10th Avenue N., Creston
9:00 a.m. April 25, 2017 to 4:00 p.m. May 5, 2017
excluding Statutory Holidays and weekends.
Nomination documents are available at the Town Hall starting on April 25, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold offce as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:
• Canadian citizen;
• 18 years of age or older;
• resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are fled; and,
• not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or from being nominated for, being elected to,
or holding office.

ADVANCE ELECTOR REGISTRATION
Are you eligible to vote at the June 10, 2017 by-election for Councillor? Is your name on the current list of electors? If you are not sure you can fnd out by calling or visiting the Town Hall, 238 – 10th Avenue North, telephone 250-428-2214, ext. 233 or 226. The offce is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
Advance elector registrations will be accepted at the Town Hall until April 18, 2017. With the exception of registrations on voting days, new elector registrations will not be accepted during the period April 19, 2017 to June 10, 2017.
