The Centre for Rural Health Research, within UBC’s Department of Family Practice is conducting an ongoing research study to understand rural and remote community priorities for health care across British Columbia. The RER has funding under Canada’s Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research to work with rural citizens to provide high quality and useful evidence for rural health care planning in BC.
Through telephone interviews and an online survey, the RER team has heard from approximately 1,500 people across 211 rural BC communities about their health care needs and priorities. The summary report of their findings is available here: bit.ly/RERsurveysummary.
The survey is ongoing and will remain active until the project’s end, March 2021. Take the survey at bit.ly/ruralevidencereview. The RER team thanks you for your support for this work to improve rural health services in BC.
