Creston, BC April 3, 2020: Council and Staff would like to thank all our citizens for your continued support and cooperation. We are encouraged by the measures you are taking to keep yourselves, your families and each other healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the days continue, and we are all faced with uncertainty and adapting to constant change, we will endeavour to ensure that we continue to share resources, information and supports that are available.
Over the last number of weeks, the federal and provincial governments along with private sector and not-for profit organizations have announced COVID-19 focused business supports. For information on these initiatives please review the links below:
- Small Business B.C. has developed a comprehensive list of small business supports (Federal, Provincial and private sector) to help business owners navigate the resources available to them. For more information visit COVID-19 Supports for Businesses in B.C.
- Community Futures Central Kootenay is providing business support and advice including Weekly Business Community Roundtables on Zoom. For more information visit COVID-19 Support for Businesses.
- Columbia Basin Trust has announced $11.7 million in new funding to provide immediate support for Basin residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Small Business Working Capital Loans are for working capital purposes only, such as rent, wages and inventory. Please also note that the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Authority is taking proactive measures to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 and, as such, is closing the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area until further notice. For more details visit www.crestonwildlife.ca.
