Creston, BC - April 9, 2020: We understand that these are difficult times, and that many residents are missing being able to physically connect with family and friends in the ways that we are accustomed to. This long weekend, Town Council and Staff are urging Creston Valley Residents to stay home. It is so important that we stay connected right now, whether through virtual visits or simply speaking on the phone. Your commitment to flattening the COVID-19 curve is deeply appreciated – we can only do this together. On behalf of us all at the Town of Creston, have a happy and safe long weekend.
Mental Health: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we must all remember to take care of ourselves not just physically, but mentally as well. The importance of being mindful of your emotions and understanding that feelings of stress and anxiety right now are normal is paramount. Today, the Province of B.C. announced $5 million to expand existing mental health programs and services. These include virtual mental health supports for youth and frontline healthcare workers, expanding access to no and low cost community counselling programs, and increasing access to online peer support.
