[ARCHIVED] COVID-19- April 21, 2020

Creston, BC – April 20, 2020: The changes we are experiencing are hardest on our vulnerable community members, our children and our seniors – many of whom are used to physically being able to connect with others.  For seniors and residents of long-term care facilities visitation restrictions are especially hard. To help alleviate some of the isolation and loneliness experienced, BC Care Providers Association has launched a web portal, #TellThemYouCare, that allows the public to send messages, including handwritten notes, video links, drawings and other expressions of love to our seniors.  For more information on how to participate visit consider sending your cards, notes or drawings to a senior in your life.

Taking Care of Yourself and Others:  The BC Centre for Disease Control released a COVID-19 Guide “Be Prepared, Be Well: How to care for yourself and others.” This guide offers advice on how to reduce the spread of COVID-19, how to prepare for illness at home, how to care for yourself or family members who may become ill with COVID-19. Additionally, it outlines available mental health resources and tips to help you prepare for self-isolation. It is well worth the read and can be accessed at:
