[ARCHIVED] COVID-19- April 21, 2020

Creston, BC – April 20, 2020: The changes we are experiencing are hardest on our vulnerable community members, our children and our seniors – many of whom are used to physically being able to connect with others.  For seniors and residents of long-term care facilities visitation restrictions are especially hard. To help alleviate some of the isolation and loneliness experienced, BC Care Providers Association has launched a web portal, #TellThemYouCare, that allows the public to send messages, including handwritten notes, video links, drawings and other expressions of love to our seniors.  For more information on how to participate visit https://bccare.ca/tellthemyoucarealternatively consider sending your cards, notes or drawings to a senior in your life.

Taking Care of Yourself and Others:  The BC Centre for Disease Control released a COVID-19 Guide “Be Prepared, Be Well: How to care for yourself and others.” This guide offers advice on how to reduce the spread of COVID-19, how to prepare for illness at home, how to care for yourself or family members who may become ill with COVID-19. Additionally, it outlines available mental health resources and tips to help you prepare for self-isolation. It is well worth the read and can be accessed at: http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Info-Site/Documents/COVID-19-Care-for-yourself-others.pdf
