Creston, BC – May 11, 2020:  Provincial Health Minister, Adrian Dix, reminded us that the best place to be this coming May Long weekend, is where we live. The residents of Creston Valley know this to be especially true. As sunnier days and warmer weather approaches, Town of Creston Council and Staff encourage residents to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, maintaining physical distancing and staying in small groups of 2-6 individuals.

Day Use Provincial Parks: On May 14, BC Parks will reopen many front- and back-country trails, beaches, picnic areas, washroom facilities and boat launches for day-use only. For more information on BC Parks access, please visit:

Hotel Sector Guidance: The Provincial Health Officer released guidance to operators of hotels, motels, hostels, inns and other forms of travel accommodation for preventing the transmission of COVID-19. To review this guidance please visit:

University of British Columbia Survey - Rural Community Responses to COVID-19 in BC: The Centre for Rural Health Research, in partnership with BC Rural Health Network has created a brief, anonymous survey to learn from rural and remote BC communities about their experiences of and responses to COVID-19. The survey findings will be used to understand rural community solutions and resiliency in the face of COVID-19, and the findings will be shared with rural and remote BC communities to support learning and collaboration.
