[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update - May 13, 2020

Creston, BC – May 13, 2020:  The Town of Creston is following the guidance provided in B.C.’s Restart Plan, which will include a careful re-opening, under enhanced protocols, of Town owned parks and facilities in the weeks and months ahead. As of Friday May 15, 2020 the public washrooms located downtown will be open between 8 am and 8 pm. The public washrooms located in our Town parks will also be opened on Friday. All washrooms will be cleaned daily. We encourage you to continue to practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently.

Provincial State of Emergency Extended: The Provincial state of emergency has been extended by the Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Mike Farnworth,  until the end of the day on May 26, 2020 to support continued coordination of the COVID-19 pandemic response.

Re-Opening Businesses: As the Province moves into Phase 2 of BC’s Restart Plan (May 19, 2020), all businesses and organizations, whether they stayed open or are planning to re-open in Phase 2 or Phase 3, should begin planning for safe operations. Every business will need to have a public COVID Safe Plan to operate in BC. Please note that if your business has been closed by a Provincial Order, it cannot open until the Order is formally lifted.
