[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update - May 14, 2020

Creston, BC – May 14, 2020:  The gates to Millennium Park will be open tomorrow, Friday May 15, 2020. Town of Creston parks are open for general public use and Council and staff encourage you stay local and enjoy our outdoor spaces safely and responsibly. Please continue to clean your hands, practice physical distancing and above all, if you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms please stay home.

When the Provincial Medical Health Officer lifts/amends the Orders that closed certain non-essential businesses in March,  they will be able to re-open following the guidance provided by the Province and WorkSafeBC. The Town of Creston asks that residents and business patrons show patience and kindness towards those businesses as they situate themselves in our new reality. Our local businesses will need our encouragement, support and understanding as they move forward.

Kindness is something we need to direct towards ourselves as well. The impacts of COVID-19 on our lives, livelihoods, friends and family have been widespread. Even though we are returning to a new normal, it is important to understand that in times of uncertainty it is normal to feel anxiety and stress. There are local, provincial and federal resources available to support your mental health and well-being during this time. For a list of available resources, including counselling services through Valley Community Services please visit: https://creston.ca/2415/COVID-19-Mental-Health.
