Creston, BC – May 20, 2020: This morning the federal government spoke to the use of non-medical masks or cloth face coverings in public settings when it is difficult to keep a safe distance for an extended period of time. Dr. Bonnie Henry, our Provincial Medical Health Officer, reminded us, “that face coverings keep our droplets in and don’t prevent transmission from others. The best ways for us to stay safe is to wash our hands, maintain a safe physical distance from others and keep our ‘rules’ for social interactions top of mind.” Town of Creston Council and staff would like to remind our residents, that even though we are moving into a new phase of BC’s Restart plan, we still need to take the appropriate safety precautions to reduce the possibility of spreading COVID-19 in our community.

This program provides property owners the opportunity to do their part in helping small businesses and their employees succeed in these challenging times. We’re all in this together, and that’s why the government is stepping up to provide rent relief to businesses, while helping property owners maintain rental income through this crisis.
