[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update - August 4, 2020

Creston, BC – August 4, 2020 -  Town of Creston Council and staff would like to thank Creston Valley Residents for enjoying a safe and fun August long weekend.  Each and everyone of you have a vital role to play in keeping our community safe, and we encourage you to continue practicing the preventative COVID -19  measures you have come to know by heart. Maintain physical distancing, wash your hands, stay at home if you have any cold or flu symptoms and be kind.

Good Times Guide: Good times have been linked to the community outbreaks of COVID-19 in BC. We all love good times, but in the words of Dr. Bonnie Henry, “Spread Fun – not COVID-19”. For guidance on how to have fun and reduce the possibility of spreading COVID-19 to friends, family and fellow good timers please visit: https://goodtimes.gov.bc.ca/

Talking to Children about COVID-19: Finding ways to talk to our children about COVID-19 has required creativity, compassion and persistence. As the pandemic continues to change the way we live, work and play, it remains important to support our kids as they navigate their new reality and rules.  The Mental Health Commission of Canada has compiled resources for children and youth, including story books, mental health support and advice on talking to kids about COVID-19.
