Provincial State of Emergency Extended: The Government of British Columbia has extended the Provincial State of Emergency until the end of the day September 29, 2020 to continue to use extraordinary powers under the Emergency Program Act to support the Province’s COVID-19 pandemic response
Provincial Economic Recovery Plan: On Thursday, September 17, 2020, Premier John Horgan and Carole James, Minister of Finance released Stronger BC for Everyone: BC’s Economic Recovery Plan. The plan outlines the latest steps the Government of British Columbia is taking to help people, businesses and communities recover and come out of COVID-19, stronger and better prepared. It focuses on four key areas: making health care better, creating jobs and opportunities, helping businesses grow and rehire, supporting strong communities. School Exposures: If there is a confirmed COVID-19 case in a school, Public Health will contact the affected school community members directly. Additionally, Interior Health posts school notifications on their website, providing the date and type of notification (outbreak, cluster or exposure) for impacted schools.
