Given the extreme temperatures, an indoor cooling centre has been set up at the Creston & District Community Complex in the Creston Room effective today and including Thursday, July 1, from 11 am – 6 pm. If you, or someone you know need a place to cool off, please stop by the Creston Room which can be accessed via the external east doors by the Pickleball courts.
In addition, Creston Fire Rescue has a self-serve public cooling tent with chilled water, a water mister and chairs set up at the Fire Hall each day between 9 am – 4 pm.
Especially during these extreme temperatures, please be sure to check in with your family and neighbours, especially seniors, to ensure they are well. If you are experiencing any symptoms of heat stroke, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
