Community Pride Committee

The Community Pride Committee advises Council on projects and activities within the Town that foster a sense of pride on the part of residents. These could be aesthetic improvements, recreational activities or events that enhance the economic well-being of the community.

More information about the goals and objectives of the Community Pride Committee can be found in the Community Pride Terms of Reference.

Annual Activities sponsored by the Community Pride Committee include:

  • Spring cleanup;
  • Volunteer recognition social (in partnership with Creston & District Community Complex and Kootenay Employment Services);
  • Canada Day Activities;
  • Santa Claus Parade.

The Committee has also been involved in a number of beautification and improvement initiatives in Creston, including:

  • Canada’s Smallest Park;
  • Drip irrigation system to downtown flower baskets;
  • Downtown murals;
  • Heritage walking tour;
