Creston Valley Health Working Group, Physician Recruitment Program

Physician Recruitment GOOD NEWS!

It is with pleasure we announce that Dr. Jeremy Kass has commenced work at the office of
Dr. D. Hoffmann.  We welcome both he and his wife to the Creston Valley. They both look forward to becoming an active part of the Creston Valley community.

Creston Valley Health Working Group

The successful recruitment of physicians to care for the citizens of the Creston Valley has been due to the collective commitment of the Creston Valley Health Working Group, a group formed in 2006 and made up of representatives from: current physicians practicing in Creston, Interior Health, the Town of Creston and the Regional District of Central Kootenay.

This unique and comprehensive award-winning program addresses the multiple layers of recruitment, as well as successful integration of newly arrived physicians to Creston. Facilitated by our Physician Recruitment Consultant, this program is supported and funded by the Regional District Directors of Electoral Areas B & C and the Town of Creston.

Successes of the program are made evident by the ongoing recruitment of permanent physicians to Creston including GPs who provide enhanced skills in anesthesia, surgery, and obstetrics.

Additionally, several locum physicians have provided relief for existing physicians to take much needed breaks, as well as filling physician absentee gaps.

New physicians and the ongoing recruitment of qualified candidates are sourced through referrals from Health Match BC and Interior Health, as well as personal contact made at physician conferences and events. Additionally, national advertising in medical journals has been provided by Interior Health.

Family Practice Physicians with recent ER experience, eligible for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, are invited to contact Marilin States, Physician Recruitment Consultant,
