The Town of Creston is aware of an event being held this evening in the community that will be accompanied with protesters outside the venue.
The following precautionary measures are in place to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals present and travelling through the area:
- Town staff and emergency officials have coordinated in advance to support a safe environment for those in the vicinity or travelling through the area.
- Traffic at the Highway 3 and 3A intersection will be actively slowed and monitored to support pedestrian safety and maintain traffic flow. This may include some lane closures on the highway due to pedestrian congestion.
- Emergency responders have increased operational readiness and are on standby for the event.
- Our staff will be actively monitoring the event and will provide resources to the area accordingly to maintain public safety.
Residents and motorists are asked to drive with caution in the area, being mindful of increased foot traffic near the highway. We also ask everyone present at this event to remain peaceful and considerate and thank the community for its cooperation and commitment to public safety.
