2026 Local Municipal Election
The 2026 Local Municipal Election is just around the corner, and on Saturday, October 17, 2026, residents of the Town of Creston will have the opportunity to vote.
Voters will be choosing one Mayor, six Councillors and one School District No. 8 Trustee.
With election day approaching, you may be wondering: Where can I learn more about the people who are running?
As a municipality, the Town of Creston’s role is to provide official election information and ensure the election process is fair and accessible to everyone. The Town does not endorse, promote or oppose individual candidates, and therefore cannot use its communication channels to profile candidates, share their campaign messages or direct voters toward particular candidates.
So where should you look?
Check the local Media Channels
Local media can be a great way to learn more about the people running for office. Watch the Creston Valley Advance and mycrestonnow.com for candidate profiles, interviews, election coverage and other information in the weeks leading up to voting day.
Attend Candidate Forums
Candidate forums are a great opportunity to hear directly from the people running for office, learn more about their priorities, and hear their responses to questions about local issues.
College of the Rockies is hosting an All Candidates Election Forum for the Town of Creston:
Monday, October 5
Creston & District Community Complex
6:00–8:30 p.m.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
Attending a forum can be a helpful way to hear candidates discuss the issues that matter to you and consider their responses as you decide how to cast your vote.
Visit CivicInfo BC

Do Your Research. Ask Questions. Vote.
Municipal elections have a direct impact on our community, from roads, parks and recreation to planning, budgets, infrastructure and community services.
Take some time to learn about the candidates, their experience, their priorities and their perspectives on the issues that matter to you.
The Town of Creston will continue to provide factual, non-partisan information about how, when and where to vote, while candidate information and campaigning are the responsibility of the candidates and the organizations supporting them.
