The Town of Creston is inviting local contractors to join a new Contractor Directory, designed to connect residents with businesses that can help reduce wildfire risk around homes and properties.
As more homeowners take steps to become FireSmart TM, there is growing demand for contractors who can assist with recommended home and property improvements. The directory will help residents find local businesses that offer services such as:
- Roofing, gutters, siding and exterior home maintenance
- Landscaping and vegetation management
- Tree pruning and arborist services
- Property clean-up and debris removal
- Other FireSmart TM related services
Participating contractors will gain valuable exposure to homeowners who have received a Wildfire Mitigation Assessment and are looking for qualified businesses to complete recommended work. Inclusion in the directory also demonstrates a contractor's commitment to wildfire preparedness and community safety.
To be eligible for the directory, contractors must:
- Provide services relevant to FireSmart recommendations for Creston residents;
- Hold a valid Town of Creston business licence; and
- Complete the free FireSmart TM 101 training course.
The directory will be published once participating contractors have registered.
