A beautiful new mural is coming to the old Ambulance Building on 10th Ave North in Creston—a project that will celebrate the Ktunaxa peoples and their deep connection to this land. Artists Kate and Sarah from Golden Butter Murals are leading the way, and they want the community to be part of the creative process.
The illustration above is a mock-up of their vision, and now they’re looking for your input. What elements do you think belong in the mural to reflect the landscape of the Kootenay River here in Creston? Consider things like:
• Marine life
• Birds
• Vegetation
• Animals
…or anything else that tells the story of our valley
Send your ideas (or even a drawing!) to communications@creston.ca by August 31.
Once your ideas are incorporated, the design will be sketched onto the wall—and then everyone will be invited to help paint it. What a fun way to leave your mark in the community! (Stay tuned for more details.)
A huge shoutout to Kate and Sarah of Golden Butter Murals for turning this project into such a fun and inspiring project for the community!
